Becoming Light Series

Where color softens, dissolves, and gathers—until light is what remains.

The paintings in the Becoming Light series explore quiet transformation through layering, erosion, and revelation. Built through veils of color, sanding, and subtle tonal shifts, each work moves toward a place of luminosity where form becomes less fixed and light begins to emerge from within the surface.

Inspired by moments in nature when light changes everything—a horizon dissolving into water, stems illuminated against sky, or color fading into atmosphere—these paintings reflect the passage of time and the beauty that appears when we allow something to soften, shift, and become.

Rather than depicting light, the process itself allows light to surface gradually through the layers, revealing a sense of calm, presence, and quiet transformation.
